Luna McNamara is a social worker by day, and by night she writes about historical women and forgotten gods.

Luna holds a master’s degree from Harvard University in the study of women and gender in world religions; she has also studied ancient Greek language and philosophy. She lives in Boston with her faithful lop rabbit, Leo

Like many academics, she turned to fiction writing as a way to unwind and let her imagination run wild. Her short fiction has been published in Stygian Lepus and Rune Bear.

Her first novel, Psyche and Eros, was published by Orion Books in the UK and HarperCollins in the US in 2023. It was chosen as an Indie Next Pick and Amazon Best of Romance, and has been translated into thirteen languages.

Her second novel, The Witch and the Huntress, about the mythological heroines Atalanta and Medea, will be released in April of 2026.

She is represented by Hattie Grünewald of the Blair Partnership.
